We have wanted to go on a back packing trip for a long time now, so this summer we finally made plans to.  Granted it was not a very far back packing trip, but you need to start somewhere right?  We figured we better start small before we can go bigger.  Anyways we had an amazing time on our trip.  We went to a place called Opal Creek in Oregon with Cooper and Jen Trost.  The hike was  about the three miles to the spot we picked to camp out in.  I think we got the best spot out of all the places you could stop at.  This is because right below us was a river that was a few feet off the trail.  This river was the most beautiful river I have ever seen!  It was so clear you could see every little rock in the water. Also the main reason we went to this place is because it had what we called a butt slide.  There was literally a slide made from the water rushing down. I don't know know why, but I love Zoo's!  I just think it is so cool that you can go and see exotic animals from other countries. It's great!  Anyways...We had a great time.  We got to go with Cooper and Jen Trost because they were also in Oregon for the summer break, so we were able to do a lot with them.  So far though my favorite Zoo is the Seattle Zoo, it is a lot bigger than Portland's, but I think I like it so much because it has an under the water sections filled with sharks and all sorts of ocean living animals.  Animals in the ocean fascinate me!!  Here are some pictures though of our time at the Portland Zoo.  The Polo bear was sleeping the whole time  This Monkey was so cute!! For our first anniversary(August 12, 2012)  I woke up to this in our room Then as I was getting ready he snuck these precious flowers in  with the sea shells and a note next to it. For Lunch I was taken to the Lake Oswego Grill(which is very expensive),  so I was spoiled by my man! During lunch he pulls out a brown bag and in it I found this with a note. WHAT! A trip to Hawaii!!!  Best gift ever! I was so excited I could hardly eat, but I had no idea when we were going.... After lunch he took me miniature golfing, which by the way is one if my favorite things to do. I though for sure by then he was going to tell me when we were going but still nothing. After golfing he took me out for sonic ice cream(which is also my favorite) and with the ice cream he gave me another brown bag. in it was this itinerary.. Our flight plans!!!!!!  He actually did scheduled a date a for Hawaii trip!  So it was official we are
