We were married August 12, 2011.
In the Portland Oregon Temple.
This will be a day that I will never forget.
When I was a little girl
my dream was to one day get married in the temple, back then I thought
it would be the Salt Lake temple.
The reason why is because out of all
the temples, that one looks most like a castle and I so bad wanted to be
a princess.
Well when that day came, and the man I married was from
Portland,
the Portland temple became my new castle and is now my
favorite temple.
That might sound bad because all temples are the same,
but I don't think there is anything wrong with having favorites.
On
the morning of August 12th I was a complete wreck,
I was nervous and
excited and loved the whole processes of a wedding and getting dressed
up,
so as me and the bridesmaids get dressed we realize time is running
out,
so I finish getting ready and go find my parents so that we can
drive over to the temple.
As we are driving we get to the stop light
out of the hotel parking lot and the light will not turn green.
I
begged my dad to turn right and then flip a U turn,
but he says no it
will change and it still never did.
I finally just broke down crying,
all my emotions caught up to me and I was now going to ruin my make up.
My mom finally got me calmed down and I was able to walk in the temple
composed,
well so I thought....
Michael told me his aunt said
"well at
least you look better than her".
When he told me I laughed and had to
tell him the story of why I looked so terrified.
After getting ready in
the temple we finally got to start the ceremony and it was so
beautiful,
I cried the whole time.
I can't say much about it because
the covenants of the temple are sacred,
but I will say it is very
different than what we are use to seeing on the tv,
and I think that is
why I loved it even more,
it made it more personal for you.
After we got
to hug all of our family and friends that were able to attend and then
we went back to our own dressing rooms and got ready to walk out of the
temple to see more friends and family as a married couple.
Once I got
back into my wedding dress they took my mom to be out side when we came out.
They took me to my new husband so he could see me in my dress for the first time.
I can not describe the feeling when you first see each other
after being married it was amazing and all I can remember is him looking
at me the whole time walking to the back doors to the bride and groom
exit.
When they opened those doors everyone started cheering and were so happy
for us,
it was such a good feeling to walk out of those doors hand in hand.
It was so nice to see everyone and hug them all,
but now let the pictures begin.
The part that everyone loves.
haha sometimes... .
