Back in my Freshman year of collage I met this girl who was going to be my new roommate at the Ridge, her name is Janaye Kenyon. She seemed like a nice person and I couldn't wait to get to know her, but of course I was really shy when I met her, so I didn't get to know her right away. Because of certain events that happened with other roommates it brought us together and we spent all out time together(that is when she wasn't with her man ;). We would paint our nails at midnight after hanging out with friends, about every other night. If one of us was having a bad day we would stay in the same room with each other, but then would get cramped and end up leaving in the middle of the night! We told each other everything and became the best of friends. I would like to say that we reach that point where nothing could sperate us.
Well the semester ended I was off track and would visit her, stay the night and of course paint nails. She would even come visit me sometimes with her fiance Craig. We would stay up all night and just lay there and talk to each other and catch up.
Well spring semester came and my best friend was getting married April of 2010. I was a little sad because I didn't want to loose her as a friend, but I was so excited for her and happy she found her soul mate. I of course was a bridesmaid at the wedding, so at the beginning of the semester I took my journey to Seattle for the weekend, so I could be there for her wedding! She looked so pretty and I was so excited to be apart of her special day. After the wedding, pictures, and reception. I got to help her get ready to drive off with her new hubby. I will say at that moment I was sad. I didn't want her to drive off and forget me forever. The other half of me was, so excited for her of course, so I put that face on and pushed her out the door.
Well I don't know what I was so scared about because me and Janaye kept contact almost every week while she was away. Finally they came back to school for the fall semester. We didn't get to see each other as much as I would have liked, but I was still single and still in the dating circle so of course that social aspect of my life was consuming me especially because this was the semester I found my future husband in.
To fast forward things a little I got engaged, Janaye moved away for the winter and we kept in touch pretty good. We always kept each other updated and I asked her to be my bridesmaid as well. She seemed very excited. Spring semester comes and we really didn't get to see each other much because I was so consumed in planning the wedding and spending time with my fiance, so I was sad we did not get to spend precious time like that with each other. Of course we did see each other, but we didn't realize that that would be our last semester together at school.
My wedding day finally came. This is August 2011 know. I got to pick Janaye up from the airport and we got to have a slumber party before the wedding. It was so nice to have her there and having someone to guide me that has already been through it.
Well I really thought I was not going to get to see Janaye again for at least a couple of years, but I think God knows it is not good to keep us apart because I got see her again on New Years Eve :)
We went out to dinner with them and then we had separate again. This time I am not expecting it will be a couple years before we see each other again. I know there will be some way we will get to run into each other! True friendship isn't about being inseparable, it's being separated and nothing changes. And this is how I feel every time we are together.
P.s. Thanks for being the greatest friend and helping me through all my struggles you really are the greatest friend! You always just tell me how it is and that is what I need. I hope I have been just as good as a friend to you. I know we don't always get to talk to each other, but when we do it is always the best! I love and miss you girl and I know we will always be best friends.....

I got to stand by her in the line :)

There is my best friend, right next to me :)
Winter semester of 2012 was the next time I got to see her. This is because I was living in Portland and she was coming home to Seattle for a wedding, so I drove up there to see her because I didn't know when the next time would be before I would get to see her again. That is one trip that I will never regret making. I had so much fun catching up with her, visiting her family, having some pillow time for the couple nights I was there, shopping, and staying up late like we use to and just talking. If I had the chance to do that again I would love it!! One on one time was awesome, because we didn't have our husbands to get in the way haha. Once I left I honestly didn't know when I would get to see her again....
August of 2012 rolled around and Janaye called me saying they would be driving through Portland from California, to go back home to Seattle. As you can imagine I was freaking out! I was so excited!! I got to see Janaye for a couple days and we didn't waist those days. We went shopping, out to eat, went to voodoo doughnuts, and then went to Multnomah Falls. It was so good seeing them and catching up once again. Here are some pictures of our great adventure of seeing each other again!
