For those of you wanting to go to Florida here are some ideas of what you can do based on our experience going. I will also list other adventures you can go on that we were not able to make it to, but looked like a blast.
Fist off if you have young kids with you and you plan to spend a lot of time at Disney World I advise to stay at one of the resort! It would be so much easier for you. I say this because there are a lot of parks to go to and each park you need a full day for. So when you are planning a Disney World trip I advice to take a day for each of the parks which would be 4 days(Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom) and then I would also plan for the water parks so leave 2 days(Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach) for that also. We only went to three of the parks( Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios). We loved it so much, but sense we did not have small kids we got a pass hopper so that we were able to go in between parks. Which I would still get one if you are wanting the option to hop between the parks throughout the day. Also plan to eat at the parks or if you are staying at a Disney Resort first day go to the store and get food so that you can eat your meals at the hotel because you will see that you will run out of time to try to eat outside of the park. It was always easier for us to just stay and eat at the park.
Fast Passes
these things are awesome to get if you can get to the park early. If you get there past the afternoon there wont be very many good ones lefts. So when you get into the park ask the nearest cast member to direct you to the nearest fast passes area. You will see cast members with ipads and scanners. What they do is ask you what 3 rides you want a fast pass for. I recommend Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain. Those rides by far are the best. Then if those rides are available you will have to then pick times that you can make it to the rides at. If you can I would so get the fast passes just make sure you get to them early. And yes there will be lines for this also, so try to get there early.
What should you take inside the park:
- Bring a small bag to put everyones things in for when you go on the rides(you are able to bring your bags on all the rides)
- Water Bottles(water is so expensive to buy in the park)
- Snacks(so you have something to eat in the lines)
- Sunscreen
- Strollers: If you need a stroller try to just bring the umbrella kind because if you bring a big chunky one it will be very hard for you to get around. You also have to leave the strollers at the gates of the ride, so make sure all of your valuables are with you in the bag you take on the ride.
Also if you don't want to be holding these things in the park all day they do have day use lockers that you can rent for that day.
Well I think I listed about everything that is good to know for a trip to Disney World, if you do have questions please leave a message below.
Our Spring Break Trip
When it is your first visit let them know at the ticket box and you will get these awesome pins.
The Beautiful Castle in Disney World
The Thunder Mountain Ride and Tea Cups video!
Space Mountain was our favorite ride!! It is a must to go on.
I love this video it looks like the castle was blowing up haha. No worries it was just a firework.
So pretty at night!
Rapunzels tower
They had some yummy treats at some of the vendors. I recommend also getting the frozen pink lemonade cups, so good!
We had a lot of fun in the Magic Kingdom
Welcome To Epcot:
While in Epcot we got to watch some baby duckies jump off the ledge to there mommy! They all struggled one by one but sure enough they all made it and the mom waited for all of them! So cute!
Here are some funny pictures of us all on some of the rides
More Things to do in the Orlando Area:
For those of you who do not have small children to entertain, here are some things you might like to do in the Orlando area that are a must in my book. These are just a little easier to do with out kids, but the kids might like these activities as well. Just depends on the family.
- Universal Studios(we didn't get to go but we went and ate dinner at the Hard Rock and I wish would would have thought to go there because they had so many more adult rides there)
- Parasailing(this can be done in Disney World which is what we did)
- Zip lining
- Go to the Beach and swim with dolphins(Cocoa Beach was only 45 min. away. Also kids can go to the dolphin swimming if they can swim of course and are at the age required)
- Visit downtown Orlando
- Go to an Orlando Magic basketball Game(for the Sports Lovers)
- Eat Turtle and Alligator
- Go to the Zoo(kids would love this)
- Paddle Boarding
Here are pictures of what we did instead of Disney World the whole week.
Beach Selfies
Huge pelicans landed by us.
This is Cocoa Beach. We were suppose to go swim with Dolphins, but it was canceled, so we just spent the day at the beach and got some Henna Tattoos!
ZIPLINING was so much fun! if you don't do it in Florida it is a must for some time in your life.
I love Parasailing! The first time I went parasailing was in Hawaii with Michael. I will say I liked the Hawaii one way better, but it was still a blast! You could see all of Disney and the Resorts!
Paddle Boarding was a lot of fun, we got to paddle board around the whole lake. It was over cast the whole time so the temperature was pretty good. Funny part is that right when we got out it started to rain and lighting was starting to come also, so we ended at a pretty good time!
If you see a Twistee Treats any were near Orlando or Kissimmee stop there!!! Is is so amazingly good. We went 2 times, so no I am not a pig eating that much ice cream haha.
And if you are lucky enough to get stuck in a rain storm this is what is might look like.
