When thanksgiving is getting closer, it is a sign that my favorite holiday seasons are coming. Once thanksgiving hits a whole string of events happens. We have Birthdays and Christmas and more Birthdays then New Years, so as you can see this time of the year is my favorite! All we do is party and hangout with family, what is better than that?
This year to start off the holiday season we went to Utah to be with Michael's family for Thanksgiving. They had to come down to Utah anyways to get somethings done for the business and so on, so it was a lot of fun being able to be with them for Thanksgiving.
What we did:
First off we visited with Michael's aunt and uncle who we are staying with for the weekend and got all settled in.
The next say was Thanksgiving and I made my favorite dish!
Sweet potatoes casserole(the kind with brown sugar and pecans and coconut). This is my absolute favorite dish for the holidays, I could eat the whole pan if I wanted to. After our Yummy Thanksgiving dinner we all decided to go to the movies. Red Dawn was playing, so we were all excited to go and see it. Let me tell you that movie is really good, but man I cried the whole time. There are just some sad sad parts in that movie. It was very good though and I would definitely watch it again. After the movie we went back to the house and decided to go to walmart to check out black friday at midnight! All I needed was a raiser so we really just wanted to go to people watch and let me tell you there are some crazy people in the world that will do anything for great prices, like this one couple we saw brought there little infant in that was on oxygen. How SCARY is that!! That poor baby and her crazy parents. If you ever get bored on a Thanksgiving night you will be entertained by crazy black friday shoppers.
Friday we headed off to Park City.
I had never been to Park City, so I was excited to see what everyone was talking about. When we got there we went to the strip mall to look around and of course we had to take a picture by a cool old mining cart.
After exploring Park City we headed to Salt Lake to look at all the Christmas lights at the new City Creek Mall and Temple Square. I love Christmas lights, it was so fun going around and looking at everything all lit up. Here are some pictures of the beautiful lights.
Saturday Saturday Saturday
A perfect day to bounce on some trampolines and show off some Nelson Family skills
Over all Thanksgiving was pretty fun this year and I am so excited for Christmas and my Birthday to come now!
