A Winter in Portland

At BYU-Idaho they have a system with three semesters and they only assign you two, so me and Michael are on the Fall/Spring Semester and have our off track in the Winter semester.  Now that we are married, we spend the winter in Portland.  This was my first winter away from Driggs and Rexburg.  It was also my first time being away from home this long, so I was worried that I would have a hard time adjusting.

Our winter semester in Portland was a lot of fun.  I also got a job at a gym called Club Sport and worked at the juice bar for them. It was so nice because I also got a free membership, so it was nice to have a place to workout at when it was freezing out side. I loved that job though it was a really good one for three months. I hope that I can go back to it someday even if it is as a personal trainer.

We did a lot of fun things while in Portland we went to 3 Blazer games and 1 Hockey game. We got to go up to the beach house in Washington where we had our honeymoon, it was a lot colder though, so we didn't get to do much, but it was still a lot of fun.  While in Oregon we got news that my grandpa past away, so me and Michael drove up to see my family in Moses Lake.  We also stopped in Seattle to do some site seeing which was a lot of fun.  When we got to Moses Lake it was so good to see my mom and my sisters, I was starting to have a hard time without my family, so it was good to see them.

Here are some pictures for part of our Winter break.

We also got to see the premiere of Hunger Games, which was a midnight showing, we had a lot of fun and loved watching all the crazy people around us and what they dressed up like.  It was a good movie, but the book of course was a lot better.  One last big thing that we did before we left Oregon was babysat the bishops kids(the Dickson's).  They have 5 boys all under the age of 13, so there was never a dull moment. I actually had a lot of fun the whole time.  The kids are really good, they listen to everything you say and they a lot of fun to play with.
Here are some pictures of the boys we watched.

The two boys names that are missing is Tyler's and Cole, they are in the I love you picture though.

We got to spend Easter with them to is was so fun hiding there baskets and having an Easter Sunday lesson for them to do. We also went over to Michael's house and had Easter dinner and they got to go find more eggs, so I think Easter was a success for them.

 Play Time!

We had such a good time in our off track and barely made it with out my family! I am excited to go back and have more experiences with my wonderful husband.  ps we also did go you San Francisco, so look for that in my next blog.

THINGS I LOVE

I feel it is so important to fall in love with as many things as we can, but to also fall in love with as many people as we can. As I have gotten older I have started to love things I did not care about when I was younger. I have grown to appreciate what my Heavenly Father has given to me on this Earth. and I have learned that when you love, you serve others. Which is the pure love of Christ...  and that is what will bring true happiness into your world. I am going to make a list throughout my life of things that I have fallen in love with. I want to be remembered as someone who loved everything and everyone. I want my kids to be able to know what I loved and that serving and loving everything is one of the  greatest gifts we have to become truly happy in this world. .......... Super Bowl

For the Super Bowl this year we are tagging a long with Ben and Rachel and headed to Rachel's mom's house in Heber for the weekend. On Saturday we went to the Ice Castles that were in Midway, which touches Heber, so we decided it would be a good idea to go because towns get selected to host the Ice Castles and this is the 3rd time midway was selected, so we thought we better go because it might not come back again. Once we got there we had to hop into a huge line that did go pretty fast but while we were waiting there were some guys juggling fire torches and also two guy carving ice sculptures, the two they was working on were the seattle Seahawk's hawk and the Denver Bronco's Bronco.  I was really cool to watch.  Once we got in to the Ice Castle we were frozen, we definitely did not dress right for the weather and we went at night so it was even more cold, but it was so cool because they had lights shinning on the ice and it would change different colors too.  Here ar...

HIKING THROUGH THE NARROWS

Our camping trip down in Zions was amazing! I had never been down in Southern Utah, so I was very excited to go and explore. Our first stop was Cedar City. We gotten in pretty late so we just found a campsite and went to bed. We got up pretty early the next morning to find our next campsite and to hike the narrows. Once we got our campsite all set up at our new location in ------ we changed and headed to Zions . I will say there is nothing in Southern Utah, but yet it is so beautiful. When we finally got into Zions we road the bus up to the beginning of the narrows. Here are pictures of our amazing experience in where I think is the most beautiful place in Zions. The Crew.   Hiking water shoes!!  Cooper being funny in the water. It looks like a dead person floating down the river. The last adventure in the Narrows was building a rock pyramid.   After our wonde...
