A Winter in Portland

At BYU-Idaho they have a system with three semesters and they only assign you two, so me and Michael are on the Fall/Spring Semester and have our off track in the Winter semester.  Now that we are married, we spend the winter in Portland.  This was my first winter away from Driggs and Rexburg.  It was also my first time being away from home this long, so I was worried that I would have a hard time adjusting.

Our winter semester in Portland was a lot of fun.  I also got a job at a gym called Club Sport and worked at the juice bar for them. It was so nice because I also got a free membership, so it was nice to have a place to workout at when it was freezing out side. I loved that job though it was a really good one for three months. I hope that I can go back to it someday even if it is as a personal trainer.

We did a lot of fun things while in Portland we went to 3 Blazer games and 1 Hockey game. We got to go up to the beach house in Washington where we had our honeymoon, it was a lot colder though, so we didn't get to do much, but it was still a lot of fun.  While in Oregon we got news that my grandpa past away, so me and Michael drove up to see my family in Moses Lake.  We also stopped in Seattle to do some site seeing which was a lot of fun.  When we got to Moses Lake it was so good to see my mom and my sisters, I was starting to have a hard time without my family, so it was good to see them.

Here are some pictures for part of our Winter break.

We also got to see the premiere of Hunger Games, which was a midnight showing, we had a lot of fun and loved watching all the crazy people around us and what they dressed up like.  It was a good movie, but the book of course was a lot better.  One last big thing that we did before we left Oregon was babysat the bishops kids(the Dickson's).  They have 5 boys all under the age of 13, so there was never a dull moment. I actually had a lot of fun the whole time.  The kids are really good, they listen to everything you say and they a lot of fun to play with.
Here are some pictures of the boys we watched.

The two boys names that are missing is Tyler's and Cole, they are in the I love you picture though.

We got to spend Easter with them to is was so fun hiding there baskets and having an Easter Sunday lesson for them to do. We also went over to Michael's house and had Easter dinner and they got to go find more eggs, so I think Easter was a success for them.

 Play Time!

We had such a good time in our off track and barely made it with out my family! I am excited to go back and have more experiences with my wonderful husband.  ps we also did go you San Francisco, so look for that in my next blog.

Kicking our summer off right.

Summer is officially here! My favorite season has finally arrived. There is no better way to celebrate the first weekend of summer then camping! Michael and I love camping. Their is just something about campfires, sleeping under the stars, and s'mores  that get me excited to camp. This weekend we camped in Provo canyon with some friends that are going to BYU. Once we got camp all set up and the fire going this little guy decided to pay us a visit. Not going to lie I thought it was a bear sneaking up on us at first. I was scared out of my mind, but then he stuck his head up and I felt a lot better. After making some yummy s'mores and relaxing by the fire we got in the cars and headed to squaw peak to  look at the beautiful lights from on top of the mountain. You can see all of Utah Valley from up there. Everyone knows that if you are looking to get a goodnights rest  that camping is not what you want to be doing. ...

Home For The Holiday's

Snow is falling, Christmas music is playing and school is out for the holiday! We got to spend Christmas with my family again this year! I was so excited to get the semester over with and head to Driggs for 2 weeks.   Up until Christmas eve me and my mom baked some yummy Christmas treats.  Of course most of them went to neighbors and friends.  And this year instead of decorating a ginger bread house we made some cookies and decorated those.  It was still a lot of fun and you can eat the cookies when you are done.  Unlike ginger bread houses. Then once that was done we also made some hot cocoa and sat by the fire to what the Christmas message given by the first presidency of the church that was on that night. Here was my favorite talk of the Christmas Devotional Well Christmas Eve has finally arrived and like every year we all head to grandma's house for dinner, gifts and my favorite part reading in the Bible about Jesus...
