A Christmas in Oregon

Before I get into our Christmas in Oregon I just want to post a picture of my families beautiful house all decorated for Christmas.  They got a real Christmas Tree this year! I am so jealous! I can't wait till we have our own home to put a Christmas Tree in.

Before heading to Oregon we got to go see the Temple lights in Salt Lake...

Our Christmas in Oregon was a lot of fun. We ended up doing a lot of things during our week and a half stay.
On Christmas Eve we had a fun family dinner that even included Christmas crackers(as in those things that have toys in the toilet paper rolls and are wrapped). They all had Australian Christmas Crowns in them also.

My favorite day of the year has finally come... Christmas!!! This is my first Christmas away from home, I was sad at first, but the Nelson's kept me pretty busy to help me now think about it.
Everyone for the most part woke up at the same time, so we all went down stairs and decided to open up presents and then eat breakfast, which is how my family does it, so it was nice to have that tradition still going.  We all got some fun things for Christmas! I will start with what my family got us.  We actually opened there gifts at graduation so that they could see us open them and so we could see them open our gifts. So Michael opened his gift first and he got a 2 night stay in Las Vegas for two.  we are so excited to go, we both have never been there!
Now it is my turn to open my present.  Oh and just so you know I have known what I was getting for about a month now which is a kitchen aid, so I was way excited I wanted it in the mint color and I was for sure that is what I was getting.  So my mom handed over the huge box and it was heavy, so I for sure though, "yes she did get me a kitchen aid".  But then I opened it and saw a bunch of pots and weights and dish towels and wondered what on earth is going on.  Well in the middle of the big box was a little box all wrapped up, so as I started to unwrap it I figured out what it was and at this point in my life I was excited to get this present rather than a kitchen aid I didn't have a real kitchen for.  So I got a.........Ipad mini!! They fooled me so good!! I had no idea that that is what my family was getting me. I was so excited. I have wanted one for a very long time. I had almost excepted the fact I was never getting one. My family is so awesome! I am so grateful for everything they still do for me.

Now on to the presents we got form Michaels parents.  We got a lot of fun little things in our stockings like Chapstick, phone cases, I got jewelry, and decorations for the house, Michael got some hot sauce and fart spray(lol), in our bigger presents I got a coat, some black boots, and leg warmers for my boots, and also a camel back pack for hikes. Michael got some new rims for his mustang and some new shirts.  Over all we had a great Christmas and got some awesome things that we have really wanted.

I got Michael some head lamps for hiking and bike riding and camping, I got him an ax for camping.  Michael got me a build a bear(finally!! I have wanted one forever) and inside that bear(because you can fill it up later with cotton back at the store) was $80 in ones!! It was funny and a great present because just asked him for money to go shopping and I didn't think he was really going to do that, but he did so I was so happy!

One present we all got the same of were some Blazer tickets for the next day.  We were all so excited to go and they were really close to the court so it was even better.

The last day in Portland was my Birthday.  The morning of we went into downtown Portland and ate breakfast at a place called flappy cakes.  It is one of those places that you get to pick the batter and toppings you want and then make it yourself on your own table, it was a way cool place.  Later on they also took me out to a really good restaurant and my old boss from Club Sport, so it was nice seeing her and she gave us all a free desert.  Once we got back from dinner we had Rachel and Matt over and had some cake and opened up presents.  I got some really cute shirts and Michael got me some cute boots from Kohl's that I happened to pick out.  So overall it was a great birthday!

Once we got back form oregon the next weekend we were off to Amy's wedding!! I am so happy I got to go to her reception.  It was so beautiful and it was so good to see her.  She looked so gorgeous in her dress.  All my friends are dropping like fly's now, the last of my single friends is getting married very soon too.  I am so happy that all of us have found wonderful partners for this life and the next life.

Two Down and Eternity to Go

This year we decided to do something simple for our anniversary  All I knew for this anniversary is that we were going to eat somewhere in downtown Salt Lake.   To my surprise I have the most brilliant husband ever because he took me to my most favorite restaurant ever!!    Cheesecake Factory!  Don't ask me why, but it is the best restaurant ever! I know you might be thinking.  "wow this girl is crazy",  but just trust me nothing can beat The Cheesecake Factory.   My favorite's there are:  Avocado eggrolls and sweetcorn tamale cakes for appetizers.   For the dinner plate their garlic noodles with shrimp and some parmesan on top.  Then of course for dessert I love love love there ultimate red velvet cheesecake and their Oreo one is pretty good as well. Anytime we go somewhere new and they have a cheesecake factory we have to go.   It is my goal to go to as many as I can in my li...

OUR LITTLE PUMPKIN IS DUE MAY 9, 2015

Yup you read that right we are having a baby, May 9, 2015!! I surprised Michael by sending him a picture of my pregnancy test. So when he woke up that was the first thing he saw. I did the same with my mom because I needed her guidance on what I needed to do. It was defiantly killing her to not be able to tell anyone the news, but I definitely appreciate all the advice I have gotten as well as another person to talk to about it. We were so excited when we found out, we just wanted to tell everyone right away, but we waited and learned patience. I would have been so heart broken to have to tell everyone if we had a miscarriage. When we found out I was pregnant, I was 5 weeks along, so for my first appointment they had to take a blood test.  For those of you who know me, know that I do not do well  with needles and veins in the same sentence. As you can imagine I did not do well.   I kept moving an...
